Fresh from her Carnegie Hall debut and MoMA residency with the world-renowned Burnt Sugar Arkestra Chamber, Miss Olithea is a vocal powerhouse with the echo of Queen's diverse rhythms in her spirit. Her journey into "experimental soul" began under the watchful eyes of her parents who nourished her with a rich tapestry of music, spanning classical to R&B.
Olithea's debut EP, "Long Day's Journey," marked her triumphant emergence from self-doubt, signaling to the world, and herself, the potency of her creative vision. But for Olithea, standing still isn't an option. She continuously dives deeper into her art, wrestling with the complexities of love, identity, and societal pain.
Music, for Olithea, isn't just an art form; it's a conduit to speak her truth. Rejecting the traditional confines of love songs, she sculpted "To Be Seen and Heard," a powerful anthem dedicated to Black women. Through her poignant lyrics, she highlights their beauty, pain, resilience, and often overlooked narratives, weaving them with vibrant chords, memorable melodies, and captivating choruses. In true Olithea style, she infuses these profound themes with beats that invite listeners to joyfully and intellectually "drop it low!"
The release of "Cosmic Church," a meditation EP, further showcased her versatility and spiritual connection. As a sound healing facilitator, she creates transformative experiences, resonating deeply with her audience.
Outside of her recorded work, Miss Olithea is also a dedicated voice teacher and entrepreneur. In 2020, she launched The Vocal Journey, a unique and innovative vocal coaching practice that stands out for its evidence-based methods and holistic approach to lifelong singing.
With a deep understanding of both her heritage and the contemporary world, Olithea is more than a singer; she's a catalyst for dialogue and an advocate for change. As she stands ready to create more transformative work, Miss Olithea ensures that every note, lyric, and beat not only resonates but also challenges, enlightens, and uplifts.
